Loving The Little Lives

Life is precious, and perhaps nothing more so than the life of a child, and that, from the moment of conception. When I think of the treasure that is the child in the womb, who becomes the treasure that is the child in our arms, to the treasure that becomes the child in our lives, I want to shout with joy from the highest point in the Pennines.

Sometimes, a little one doesn’t make it further than her mother’s womb; another barely make it a few moments from beyond it. But at whatever stage of life, whether in the womb, or in the arms, born as a ‘preemie’ or at full term, she ought to be celebrated, and the brilliant, weaving work of her Creator, praised! (I reference the feminine, I guess, because of my own three beautiful girls)

I found it hard to hold back tears of appreciation when reading of an organisation called Capturing Hopes Photography, the vision and dream of its founder Deneen Bryan. Deneen lost her baby daughter when she was just 6 months old. She has subsequently turned her heartbreaking despair into serving others with beauty and hope. Through her not-for-profit organisation, she offers free photos for families who have preemies, and has a team of volunteer photographers to assist her.

Take a look at the video: Walter Pruett was just 1 pound 3 ounces when he was born. Here are his first 100 days, captured as a time-lapse video by Deneen. Enjoy them with me…
